WASA Introduction

WASA History
WASA’s establishment and development can be traced back to the requirements of the ADB Loan No. 1260-PAK (SF) for the “Urban Water Supply & Sanitation Project.” Its responsibility included assuming control over infrastructure created through the loan by the Loan closing date in August 1992. Key milestones in its history include:
- July 1st, 1996: Takeover of Filtration Plant and Conductance Main from PHED.
- Takeover of Water Supply and Sewerage system from the Defunct Rawalpindi Municipal Corporation (Now Tehsil Municipal Administration).
- April 1st, 1998: WASA fully established and operational.
